This week is NAIDOC Week. Vision Infrastructure acknowledges that this is an opportunity for non-indigenous Australians to discover, recognise and celebrate the culture and success of Indigenous Australians. As such, we have been talking with our children about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage whilst engaging in a range of creative activities, including colouring and painting.
This years theme is Heal Country. Healing Country calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage. Talking about the meaning behind the Aboriginal flag and the Torres Strait Islander flag, whilst completing creative activities, provided an opportunity to talk about the importance of protecting our lands, waters and cultural heritage with our children.
Vision Infrastructure acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work. We pay our respects to elders throughout NSW and Australia, past, present and emerging.
